Annual Wings over Cypress Open House

Saturday November 4th was another fantastic day for our open house. The weather was picture perfect!
We enjoy hosting our open house and being able to show our neighbors and youngsters the world of aviation.

For those of you curious over 100 people experienced flight, 71 of which were Young Eagles in a total of over 60 flight operations by 12 pilots.

There was much scampering after toys by the young children, plenty of planes for everyone to see, and many hot dogs were consumed. All in all a very good day. Thanks to all our neighbors who showed up to make it such a success!

We would also like to thank our fuel supplier, Tri-County Petroleum of Columbus TX, for their generous donation of some av-gas which helped provide part of the fuel used by our pilots providing rides!

The Skinner Road Airport Community Association (SRACA) normally hosts its Annual open house for the people in our surrounding communities the first (or second) Saturday in November from 10am to 3pm

We enjoy being able to share our love of aviation and giving introductory flights to kids through the EAA Young Eagles Program and this event gives our neighbors the opportunity to learn about aviation, the airport, and meet the people who fly and live here.

Free drinks, hot dogs and snacks are provided. There are static displays of aircraft, a toy drop for young children, and the EAA Vintage Chapter 2 will host free airplane rides for children 8- 17 (with parental signature) through the EAA Young Eagles Program

Please note, to ensure your child gets to fly we suggest arriving early as slots fill up quickly. Rides will shut down at 3pm.
